Blaze a new trail, from middle school to medical school
Introducing the Academy for Innovation in Medicine (AIM)
Georgia’s first public STEMM middle and high school
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine)
WHY AIM
WHY NOW
Georgia is facing a massive healthcare workforce shortage—with more than 20,000 open positions expected by 2030. AIM presents an opportunity to fill these gaps, while keeping an eye on emerging needs, by “growing our own,” beginning in the 6th grade.
Unlike any other school in Georgia, AIM gives students an entirely new entry point into healthcare careers, starting on day one. AIM links education to real-world opportunity, offering youth the support, mentorship, and belonging they need to thrive.
Together we’re building a future where every motivated Atlanta student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to contribute to, and ultimately transform healthcare for the better—all while strengthening their families, uplifting their communities, and shaping a healthier society for all.

What We Stand For…
“Supporting our future healthcare leaders doesn’t start in adulthood. It starts in childhood—with the systems we build for and around them.”
Kristy Beam–School Founder, Chief Executive Officer
It came to life in late-night conversations between people who had seen too much talent wasted by systems that never expected brilliance from every child.
We each came from a different place in education—instruction, policy, mental health, and operations—but we were all staring at the same truth:
Talent is universal.
Opportunity isn’t.
And this has never been more apparent than in healthcare today.
We realized we had spent our careers focused on fixing symptoms. Together, we decided to finally cure the cause.
AIM wasn’t born in a boardroom.
