Federal Programs

Accountability and Compliance

AIM participates in several federal and state programs designed to support students, teachers, and families. These programs are authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), and other federal and state laws. Funding from these programs helps us strengthen instruction, provide professional learning for teachers, and ensure all students have equal access to a high-quality education.

Georgia school districts apply for their federal funds through a consolidated application process to the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). This application is called the Consolidated LEA Improvement Plan or the CLIP. The CLIP requires school districts to identify the methods through which the intent and purpose(s) of each Federal program will be integrated into the district's existing academic achievement targets and efforts towards continuous improvement. Please Click HERE to view AIM's 2026-2027 CLIP.

Oversight and Organization

  • The Federal Programs Director at AIM oversees compliance with all federal and state program requirements.

  • The Governing Board of AIM provides oversight to ensure funds are used responsibly and in alignment with the school’s mission.

  • Program implementation is monitored by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC).

GOSA Report Card

As a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, an LEA that receives assistance under Title I, Part A shall prepare and disseminate an annual LEA report card that includes information on the District as a whole and each school served by the LEA. In Georgia, the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) annually compiles and publishes report cards for the state, its LEAs, and their schools, all of which contain the information required under the ESEA.

Parent and Family Rights

Parents/guardians have important rights under federal and state law, including the right to:

  • Know the professional qualifications of your child’s teachers and paraprofessionals (“Right-to-Know” under ESSA). Click HERE to view document.

  • Participate in the development and review of the school’s Parent and Family Engagement Policy and School-Parent Compact.

  • Be involved in decisions about how Title funds are used at the school.

  • Receive information in a language and format that is understandable and accessible.

Complaints and Grievances

If a parent, student, or community member believes the school has violated federal law or regulation related to federal programs, a complaint may be filed:

  1. First, with the school’s Federal Programs Coordinator (see below).

  2. If not resolved, with the Georgia Department of Education, Federal Programs Division.

Concerns that do not involve federal programs (such as general grievances, employment issues, or operational concerns) should be filed under the school’s Complaints, Grievances, and Whistleblower Policy, available here.
